Missouri harvest slows under cool, wet conditions

The USDA says Missouri’s harvest slowed down last week under cool and wet conditions.

Seventy – two percent of Missouri’s corn crop has been harvested, 11 percent ahead of last year.

Half of the state’s soybeans have been harvested, 12 percent ahead of last year. Seventy – three percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent with nearly the whole crop dropping leaves.         

Cotton harvest progressed to 31 percent complete with the crop rated 48 percent good.      

Eighty-five percent of rice is harvested, nine percent behind last year.  

Winter wheat planting is halfway complete with nearly a third of the crop emerged.
