Missouri Governor makes move toward year-round E15

Missouri Governor Mike Parson has taken another step toward year-round E15 availability in the Show Me state.

In a letter to EPA administrator Michael Regan, Parson says he will exercise authority granted to state governors under the Clean Air Act to allow Missouri retailers to sell E-15 all year. Nine other midwestern governors exercised the same right earlier this year.

Parson thanked Regan for the emergency waiver allowing E-15 sales during the 2022 ozone control season, but says relying on emergency waivers is not a long-term solution for fuel retailers, farmers, ethanol producers, consumers or the environment.

Renewable Fuels Association CEO Geoff Cooper applauded the move, encouraging other states to take similar action to allow drivers across the nation to access the lower cost and lower emission benefits of the fuel.
