Missouri Department of Agriculture unveils additional MORE initiatives

The Missouri Department of Agriculture is putting 16 initiatives into action as part of its MORE strategic vision unveiled a year ago.  In addition to the feed MORE, reach MORE, connect MORE and empower MORE pillars in the original campaign, Missouri Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn says the four pillars are divided into 16 initiatives.

“These are going to be citizen facing,” Chinn told Brownfield Ag News, referring to the 16 newly announced initiatives.  “We want people to realize that we do put the citizens first, that it is the people’s money and that it’s our Missouri.”

One of the initiatives involves rural broadband enhancement, that Chinn says requires mapping to determine where unused internet fiber lines already exist.

“We know there’s a lot of it out there, but people don’t where it is,” said Chinn. “so we don’t overlay broadband in places where it’s already at.”
