Missouri corn/soybean harvests behind average

Missouri’s corn harvest was 80 percent complete as of Sunday, seven percentage points behind average. Soybean harvest reached 60%, also seven points behind.

Temperatures were 11 degrees below normal in Missouri last week and rainfall measured 2.38 inches statewide.

Cotton harvest continues its slow pace this year in Missouri, at 32%, well behind the average of 78 percent.

Rice harvest is close to the five-year average at 91% complete.

Missouri’s winter wheat planting reached nearly 60%, just trailing the average pace.  Emergence is on pace and condition is mostly fair to good.
