Missouri corn harvest past halfway complete

The USDA says Missouri’s harvest made progress last week thanks to dry conditions. 

Sixty – four percent of Missouri’s corn crop has been harvested, 12 percent ahead of last year. Nearly all of the crop is mature.   

Soybean harvest reached 40 percent complete, 17 percent ahead of last year. Seventy – one percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent with over 90 percent of the crop dropping leaves.        

Cotton harvest is a quarter complete with the crop rated 49 percent good.     

Eighty-one percent of rice is harvested, 10 percent behind last year. 

Winter wheat planting progressed to 42 percent with 18 percent of the crop emerged.
