Minnesota’s Earley elected National FFA Officer

A newly elected National FFA Officer from Minnesota wants to empower members to pursue great things.

Valerie Earley of the Spring Valley-Wykoff FFA chapter says she has worked hard to become a better version of herself and an inspiration to others.

“Just be confident in who I was and the talents I had and show that person to the nominating committee.  So, not only did I prepare for my speeches and the knowledge portions; learning about FFA, agricultural education and agriculture; but I also reflected on who I was and who I want to be in the future.  And the impact that I want to have in this world.”

This was Earley’s second year running for national office and she tells Brownfield it’s been a dream of hers since eighth grade.

“Sitting here at National Convention and looking down at the stage from a pretty high-up seat and thinking that those National Officers on stage were so awesome.  And I’d seen that in Minnesota at our state convention, and those state and region officers just became role models for me.”

Earley plans on graduating from the University of Minnesota in the coming months and is pursuing a career in agricultural communications.
