Minnesota Pork shares farm bill priorities with D.C. lawmakers

Pork producers from Minnesota are sharing policy priorities with federal lawmakers in Washington, D.C.

Minnesota Pork director of public policy Lauren Servick says the Association is focusing on the creation of the next farm bill.

“Largely looking at foreign animal disease response and preparedness efforts.”

She tells Brownfield that includes grants to the National Animal Health Lab network.

“That are really critical during a response. But then also increasing our countermeasures, things like our vaccine banks and other items that will help us respond in the face of foreign animal disease.”

Servick says ag labor and trade are other priorities Minnesota Pork is talking to members of Congress about this week.
