Minnesota Pork names new director of communications

Minnesota Pork has tabbed a former intern as its new director of communications.

Bailey Ruen says she grew up on a pig farm near Lanesboro in southeast Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in agriculture communication and marketing.

“I was an intern with Minnesota Pork in the summer of 2021, and when I saw the communications job opening I knew I wanted to get back in the pork industry.”

She tells Brownfield the director of communications is responsible for leading the marketing strategy of Minnesota Pork.

“Whether that be print advertising, social media, websites, anything in that capacity.”

Ruen says she’s excited to be on a talented and dedicated team while representing Minnesota’s more than 3,000 pig farmers.

Minnesota Pork CEO Jill Resler says Ruen’s communication background will serve the industry well as the organization continues to build trust in Minnesota’s family pig farmers.
