Minnesota farmer says harvest is going smoothly

A farmer in southeast Minnesota says harvest is going smoothly.

Ryan Buck grows corn and soybeans near Goodhue.

“We got started with our soybeans on the 26th of September, had a few shorter days as we waited for the beans to dry out, and once we got really rolling kept right on rolling.”

He tells Brownfield once soybean harvest was finished, they moved right into corn.

“I think around the 10th of October. We did have one rain day early on for maybe a couple hours that stopped us, but otherwise it’s been sunny and warm ever since. So we’ve been making very good progress.”

Buck has a little more than 200 acres of corn left to harvest and says yields have been surprisingly good considering how hot and dry June and July were.
