Minnesota corn harvest ahead of normal pace

The corn harvest is about a week and-a-half ahead of the average pace in Minnesota.

USDA’s latest crop report says 80 percent has been harvested compared to the five-year average of 59 percent.

With the harvest of soybeans and sugarbeets wrapping up, farmers are making headway on sunflowers with 55 percent of the crop out.  That’s ten days behind a year ago and six days slower than the usual pace.
