Michigan spring still on hold

Another week of cold, wet weather has prolonged the start of any fieldwork in Michigan.

Winter wheat condition improved four points to 43 percent good to excellent despite the weather.

Fruit trees in some southern areas have broken dormancy and winter damage seems to be limited at this point.

USDA says less than one percent of the state is experiencing moderate drought.  Topsoil moisture is 99 percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is at 98 percent.
