Michigan specialty crops receive additional funds

Michigan specialty crop groups have received nearly $1.3 million in additional funding for projects.

Twelve award winners were granted up to $125,000 in federal dollars from the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program to focus on marketing, training, food safety, pest control, and plant health.

Projects will support the needs of apple, blueberry, celery, Christmas tree, peach, nectarine, and wine grape growers as well as others.
