Michigan releases crop disaster mapping tool

The Michigan Department of Agriculture has created a new digital tool to help farmers identify if their county is eligible for disaster programs.

The Michigan Crop Disaster Designations Viewer uses Geographic Information System software to map what counties have been declared a disaster area and available resources.

A majority of Michigan’s lower peninsula and almost half of the upper peninsula are currently eligible for some form of disaster assistance from freeze and excessive rain events in 2019 and this year.
