Michigan harvest ending ahead of average

Unseasonably warm weather last week helped push harvest along despite on and off showers in Michigan.

The USDA says 85 percent of corn is harvested for grain while soybeans are 96 percent complete.  Sugarbeet and dry bean harvests are also essentially complete, all ahead of last year and the five year average.

Winter wheat is now 96 percent emerged with condition rated 64 percent good to excellent.
