Michigan farmers contend with freezing & snowy conditions

Michigan farmers rushed to harvest what crops they could as winter weather loomed last week.

The USDA says the state’s corn crop condition is 43 percent good to excellent with 91 percent mature, 33 percent harvested for grain and 95 percent harvested for silage.

Soybeans are 74 percent harvested while dry beans are 92 percent complete and sugarbeets are 80 percent harvested.
