MI Corn calls for Next Generation Fuel Act passage

The president of the Michigan Corn Growers Association says he’d like to see the Next Generation Fuels Act passed and help provide more local fuel to consumers.

Randy Poll tells Brownfield, “In the future, we hope to get more blending pumps in Michigan, and if this gets through  we can have E-15 as a real fuel option for consumers.”

Poll says having the fuel available year-round would also help consumers become more familiar with it.

“It’s usually 10-15 cents cheaper a gallon and gas mileage for my vehicle seems to be getting a little better so that’s a win-win,” he shares.

Poll says E-15 reduces carbon emissions and he appreciates the bipartisan support of the legislation, including Michigan Reps. Dan Kildee (D-MI), Lisa McLain (R-MI) and Elissa Slotkin (D-MI).

Poll farms 3,000 acres and raises hogs with his family in southwest Michigan.
