Meteorologist says he hopes to never see 2018 weather conditions again

Michael Clark, co-owner and meteorologist of Indiana-based BAM weather, says it has been a challenging year for farmers across the Corn Belt.

“Some folks are the driest they’ve ever been and some folks are the wettest they’ve ever been,” he says. “The crop is at a record pace from the heat and if you’re southern Minnesota or northern Missouri it’s just totally different worlds out there.”

But, he tells Brownfield conditions in the next few weeks will be favorable for soybeans.

“We’ve got a cool down coming  and we’ve got a wet pattern coming,” he says. “The soybeans love cool and wet weather later in the season so I really think conditions are looking good and favorable to growing a big soybean crop in the Eastern Corn Belt.”

Clark spoke to Brownfield at the 2018 Ceres Solution Knowledge event in western Indiana.
