Merck Animal Health recently received approval for Nasalgen 3, an intranasal respiratory vaccine that protects beef and dairy cattle. Dr. Scott Nordstrom, associate director of ruminant life cycle management for Merck Animal Health says by administering the vaccine intranasally, it stimulates a strong, early immune response.
He says one of the most important thing this vaccine does is to help overcome maternal antibodies and it limits interference promoting healthier calves.
Nordstrom says the vaccine is equipped with a blue dye, which helps with compliance.
