Margin Protection Program session at World Dairy Expo

The National Milk Producers Federation will present a session on the new Margin Protection Program at World Dairy Expo.  NMPF president and CEO Jim Mulhern along with University of Missouri dairy economist Scott Brown will address who is eligible for the program, how to sign-up and what the fees and payments look like under different scenarios.

The 90-minute presentation will be 8:30 Thursday morning, October 2nd, in Mendota Room 4 in the Expo Center.

NMPF has created a number of tools on their website including a calculator to help dairy producers determine if the Program is right for them and at what level.  www.nmpf.org

Sign-up deadline is November 28th to participate in the program this year.  Participation is voluntary but once you enroll you are in the program for the remainder of the current Farm Bill. Enrollment will be offered again next year for those who choose not to participate this year.
