Manchin pushes back on BBB bill framework

Democrat Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia says he cannot endorse the $1.75 Trillion dollar Build Back Better framework saying more time is needed to study its potential effect on the national debt and the economy.

House Democrats unveiled the compromise plan last week and the bill needs every Democrat’s support in the Senate for it to pass.

The climate provisions in the bill are meant to help with President Biden’s agenda to cut emissions by half by 2030.
