Low interest disaster loans available to Minnesota farmers

Low-interest loans are available to Minnesota farmers impacted by recent natural disasters.

The USDA is offering physical loss loans through FSA to help producers who lost property because of excessive snow, rain, and high winds that occurred between January 28th and March 23rd.

Minnesota FSA director Joe Martin says ag producers feed the world, so when they suffer extreme losses, helping get them back on their feet is important.

Physical loss loans can apply to farm buildings, fixtures to real estate, equipment, livestock, perennial crops, fruit, and harvested or stored crops and hay.

Affected counties include Brown, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Dodge, Freeborn, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, Mahnomen, Martin, Meeker, Mower, Murray, Olmsted, Polk, Pope, Redwood, Renville, Sibley, Stearns, Wabasha, Watonwan, Winona and Yellow Medicine.
