Less than a quarter of major Kansas crops rated good-to-excellent

Less than a quarter of the Kansas corn crop is rated good-to-excellent as drought conditions worsen.

The USDA says 22 percent of the crop is good-to-excellent with 77 percent of the crop dented.

Only 25 percent of soybeans are rated good-to-excellent with 14 percent dropping leaves.

Cotton is rated 17 percent good-to-excellent with 28 percent having bolls opening.

Seventeen percent of sorghum is rated good-to-excellent with 42 percent coloring.

Pasture and range conditions are rated 9 percent good-to-excellent.
