Late harvest activity delayed for some Ohio producers

Warm but wet weather during December kept many Ohio producers from harvesting the very last of their 2019 corn and soybean crops.

The USDA says 97% of topsoil and 89% of subsoil have adequate to surplus moisture levels, contributing to those late harvest delays and limited fieldwork in parts of the state.

54% of winter wheat is rated good to excellent and another 36% is called fair, with no adequate comparison to a year ago because of the government shutdown.
