KS crops make progress but still behind

Kansas harvest made progress last week under good weather conditions.

The latest crop progress report says 84 percent of winter wheat is planted, seven percent behind last year with 59 percent of the crop emerged.

Eighty-four percent of corn is harvested.

Soybean condition is rated 55 percent good-to-excellent with 57 percent of the crop harvested.

Sixty-one percent of sorghum has been harvested and is rated 58 percent good-to-excellent.

Cotton condition is rated 50 percent good-to-excellent with five percent of the crop harvested.
