Jury finds in favor of Bayer in latest Roundup case alleging it causes cancer

Bayer says a jury has rejected a claim from a Missouri man who said that Roundup caused his cancer.

In a statement to Brownfield, the company says Thursday’s verdict is consistent with evidence that Roundup does not cause cancer and wasn’t the reason for Allan Shelton’s diagnosis.

The company says there is more than 40 years of overwhelming evidence and scientific studies that Roundup is safe and isn’t carcinogenic.

Shelton v. Monsanto, the company that Bayer purchased in 2018, is the third consecutive trial win following verdicts in California.
