Iowa farmer focusing on input management
Accessibility to herbicide was a challenge for eastern Iowa farmer Dave Walton.
He tells Brownfield, “We didn’t necessarily get our first choice of things, but we got everything covered. Obviously, the price had gone up. Now I’m hearing from retailers that some of the prices like glyphosate has come down some.”
Walton says he’s hopeful fertilizer prices will decline this fall. “I’m not booking anything yet. I’m just going to wait and see, but actively asking. When we see that drop in price, we may book most or all of our needs for the fall.”
And, he’s concerned about propane supplies for harvest.
