Iowa corn, soybeans rated 80% good to excellent

Iowa farmers took advantage of good weather last week.

USDA’s latest crop update says activities including alfalfa harvest and spraying crops.

Corn and soybean condition ratings are both 80 percent good to excellent, with 97 percent of soybeans emerged.

The oat crop is 80 percent headed and 12 percent is turning color, with 81 percent considered good to excellent.

The first cutting of alfalfa is finished, and the second cutting is at six percent.
