Indiana Governor vetoes bill that would require an additional E15 label

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has vetoed Senate Enrolled Act 303, legislation that would require an additional label on E15 fuel dispensers.

In a letter, Holcomb said he vetoed the bill “due to its requirement of a duplicative label at every pump that dispenses E15” in Indiana. The EPA requires all E15 pumps to have a label, and he says an additional label would be unnecessary and confusing.

Holcomb says he does support a provision in the bill that redefines gasohol and makes clear that E15 can be sold year-round in the state. He encourages the Indiana General Assembly to codify the definition next year, as it would support the ethanol industry and grow the market for Hoosier farmers.
