IN growers want a Farm Bill now

Pass a Farm Bill, now was the message Indiana corn and soybean farmers took to the Washington, DC recently.  Indiana Soybean Alliance president, Kevin Wilson says given the severity of this year’s drought – farmers need a farm bill decision to help farmers formulate plans for next year’s growing season.  “The final bill should provide the kind of risk management tools, like crop insurance, needed to give farmers a safety net on years like this,” he says.  “Not when farmers fare well in regards to yield, price, or both.”

Gary Lamie, president of the Indiana Corn Growers Association says they are urging grain farmers to contact members of Congress weekly from now until a farm bill passes to demonstrate the importance of the Farm Bill.
