In Arkansas: rice 98%, soybeans 86%, and cotton 98% planted

Moderate to heavy rainfall fell through Arkansas last week, limiting fieldwork.  Corn is 99% emerged and 73% rated good to excellent, with 3% silking.  Cotton is 98% planted and 89% emerged with 87% rated good to excellent.  Peanuts are 98% planted, 92% emerged, 95% rated good to excellent, and 1% pegging.  Rice is 98% planted and 95% emerged with 77% rated good to excellent.  Soybeans are 86% planted and 77% emerged with 74% rated good to excellent. 

Eleven percent of the winter wheat is harvested with 98% headed and 86% coloring.  Hay cutting is 33% complete and rated 50% good to excellent.  Pastures are rated 57% good to excellent. 

Topsoil moisture is rated 97% percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is rated 93% adequate to surplus.
