Illinois harvest nears end, winter wheat looks good

Illinois farmers have wrapped up most harvesting activities.  USDA reporters say as of Sunday, 95% of the state’s soybeans were harvested, and corn for grain is mostly done.

The winter wheat crop has reached 75% emergence with 90% of the crop planted.  So far, the 70% of the wheat crop is in good condition, with 11% in fair condition, and 15% in excellent condition.

Topsoil moisture levels are 74% adequate with 11% short and 15% surplus as of Sunday.
