Illinois FFA celebrating record membership during National FFA Week

Illinois Association FFA is celebrating record membership during National FFA Week.

“We’ve taken our membership from about 24,000 up to 39,000 FFA members this year.”

State President Rachel Hood of the Rushville-Industry FFA Chapter tells Brownfield funding from the Illinois Department of Agriculture has allowed Illinois to become a fully affiliated state with the National FFA Organization.

“It used to be where you were in an ag class but not necessarily an FFA member. Now, everybody in an ag class is automatically a member of our organization and they don’t have to worry about any financial barriers, their dues are already paid for.”

She gives thanks to the department, companies, alumni and other supporters.

“I want to ask that you please continue to support these members because the future of agriculture is in good hands and the future of agriculture is bright.”

National FFA Week runs through Saturday, February 25th.
