Illinois farmers elected to national soybean leadership

Eleven Illinois farmers are taking on leadership roles with national soybean organizations in 2023.

During a United Soybean Board meeting last month, Gary Berg of St. Elmo was elected to serve on the Executive Committee. David Wessel of Chandlerville and Dwayne Anderson of Lynn Center were also appointed to the USB Board. Doug Winter of Mill Shoals and Dan Farney of Morton retired from the board.

Last week, the American Soybean Association elected Daryl Cates of Columbia to serve as President and Stan Born of Mohomet as an at-large member of the Executive Committee.

Roberta Simpson-Dolbeare of Nebo, Jered Hooker of Clinton, Ron Moore of Roseville, Bill Raben of Ridgeway, Rob Shaffer of El Paso and Bill Wykes of Yorkville are also representing Illinois on the ASA board this year.
