Hurst says NAFTA concerns remain

The leader of the Missouri Farm Bureau says there is still concern among American Farm Bureau members about the potential of losing the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Blake Hurst tells Brownfield President Trump’s speech at the AFBF convention this week was received well, overall, especially when he talked about tax reform and regulatory reform – including the removal of the WOTUS rule, “I would say the delegates, are, you know, still concerned about where we’re headed with NAFTA. So, he said all the right things given where we are in the negotiations, so I hope that it all works out like he implied that it would.”

Hurst says Trump told Farm Bureau members that renegotiations would make NAFTA better than it is now. Trump has also said publicly that if the negotiations fail he would consider pulling the U.S. out of the deal.
