Hinson says U.S. needs to be more aggressive on ag trade
A U.S. Representative from Iowa says farmers and ranchers need more certainty when it comes to trade.
Republican Ashley Hinson tells Brownfield, “Frankly, we’ve been slow to the draw to get things moving on trade under this administration. I think we need to be more aggressive.”
She says market access programs should be expanded in the next farm bill. “Making sure those are funded in a way that our producers can take advantage of those resources so they can go out and help supplement work that’s being done by our trade representatives.”
The USDA recently announced it will lead the first-ever U.S. agribusiness trade mission to Angola in November, an effort to explore new business opportunities for American agriculture.
