Hinson says trade is one of her top priorities

A US Representative from Iowa says the Biden administration has more work to do when it comes to trade.

Republican Ashley Hinson says additional trade agreements are needed. “I have been sounding the alarm, not just on inflation, but on food security and food supply for months,” she said. “And so, making sure we have those good agreements in place, especially with what’s happening around the world right now, is very important.”

She tells Brownfield she hopes US Trade Representative Katherine Tai’s visit to the state will help. “Farmers want more markets,” Hinson said. “They want more access to sell their products. They want to make good products and they want to sell good products. I think that message was probably received loud and clear by Ambassador Tai during her visit here.”

Hinson says the USMCA was a good first step on trade, but more needs to be done. She spoke to Brownfield at the 2022 Iowa State Fair.
