Hinson lauds passage of biofuel and food priorities

An Iowa congresswoman says the Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act, passed by the House, will boost Iowa’s biofuels industry and provide support to the ag economy.

Republican Ashley Hinson says the bill creates a task force to bring food prices down and prevent future shortages. “We’re going to actually be able to shore up our domestic supply chain for food.”

She tells Brownfield the package included her PRECISE Act, which will provide farmers with conservation tools. “It focuses on more utilization of precision agriculture equipment, and opening up programs to be able to access resources to make those key investments.”

Hinson says the legislation provides a permanent fix for year-round E15. The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.
