Hawley says no need for shutdown; need for USMCA

Missouri’s newest U.S. Senator says there’s no reason for another government shutdown, “The president in his State of the Union address reached out the olive branch to Democrats. I mean, he has come MORE than half way.” Senator Josh Hawley (R) tells Brownfield shutdowns hurt everyone, including farmers.

Hawley supports Trump’s call for the ratification by the U.S. Congress of the U.S.M.C.A. agreement to replace NAFTA and is especially pleased with new provisions to help Missouri dairy farmers, “I look forward to seeing every single detail. We want to make sure we vet it fully and that it’s the best possible deal for our farmers and for all the workers of our state. But, I have to say, I’m pretty encouraged by everything we’ve seen so far.”

Hawley says he’s encouraged by the U.S. talks with China over the trade war and has been assured by the hopeful note in the president’s speech about it and in his talks with the president.
