Harvest progress continues in Arkansas

Limited precipitation has helped harvest progress across Arkansas.

Sixty-one percent of the state’s corn crop has been harvested, with 97% of the corn crop at maturity, and 70% rated good to excellent.  Thirty-three percent of the rice crop has been harvested with 84% mature, and 66% rated good to excellent.  The cotton crop has 47% percent of the crop opening bolls and 89% is rated good to excellent.  Soybean harvest is 9% complete, 23% of the crop is mature, and 65% is rated good to excellent.  Peanut harvest is 5% complete with 11% of the crop dug.

Hay second cutting is 98% complete and 78% is rated good.  Pastures are rated 33% good to excellent. 

Topsoil moisture is rated 31% percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is rated 39% adequate to surplus.
