Harvest pace picks up in Tennessee

Corn harvest is picking up, while soybean and cotton harvest is just underway in Tennessee.

The corn crop is 12% harvested with 64% mature and 75% rated good to excellent.  Soybeans are 2% harvested and 28% dropping leaves, with 78% of the crop rated good to excellent.

Cotton is rated 1% harvested, with 73% good to excellent with 30% of bolls opening. Tobacco is 55% cut and 73% is rated good to excellent.

Pastures are rated 66% good to excellent. 

Topsoil is 76% and subsoil is 78% adequate to surplus.
