Harvest continues in Arkansas

Rice, soybean, and corn harvests in Arkansas continue at a steady pace.  Rice is 24 percent harvested with 82 percent of the crop mature and 60 percent rated good to excellent.  Soybean harvest is 6 percent complete with 23 percent of the crop mature and 64 percent rated good to excellent.  Corn harvest is 44 percent complete with 95 percent of the crop mature. 

Eighty percent of the cotton crop is rated good to excellent and 84 percent is opening bolls.  Soybeans are rated 69 percent good to excellent with 8 percent mature and 14 percent dropping leaves.

Ten percent of peanuts have been dug. 

Alfalfa is rated 42 percent good with 98 percent of the second cutting completed.  Vegetables are rated 61 percent good to excellent

Seventy-six percent of Topsoil and 82 percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
