Harvest continues in Arkansas, corn 15% complete, rice 4%

Corn and rice harvest picked up pace this past week.  Corn harvest is 15% complete and rice harvest is 4% complete.  The rice crop is also 94 percent headed and 32% mature. 

Soybeans are rated 69% good to excellent, with 29% coloring, 13% dropping leaves, and 2% mature.  Cotton is rated 66% good to excellent with 22% of the bolls are opening.  Peanuts are rated 73% good to excellent. 

The second cutting of hay is 87% complete, and 18% of alfalfa hay 37% is rated good to excellent, significantly higher than last week. Vegetables are rated 58% good to excellent. 

Topsoil moisture was 66% adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture was 60% adequate to surplus.
