Harvest advances ahead of rains

Recent dry weather helped to start soybean harvest in central Michigan.

Linda Maxwell tells Brownfield her farm in Beaverton started about two weeks ago.

“We’re currently harvesting soybeans and planting wheat right at this point in time, a portion of our sugarbeets have been harvested and we’re waiting on the corn,” she shares.

Maxwell says harvest will continue on a day-by-day basis with on-and-off rains in the forecast for this week.
