“Hardship–hogwash!”
RFS hardship waivers provided to oil refiners continue to be a sore point for the ethanol industry.
Speaking at the American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE) conference in Minneapolis, ACE CEO Brian Jennings said EPA must reallocate the volumes of ethanol lost to those waivers.
“Rural America needs to speak out,” Jennings said. “Farmers are losing money while refiners have the best of both worlds. Fat profit margins and minimal RFS compliance costs.
“Hardship—hogwash!”
Jennings says President Trump’s promise of a “win-win” for ethanol and oil rings hollow when refiners get everything they want while ethanol gets nothing.
