Great Lakes seeing largest investment ever

More than $1 billion of infrastructure funding will be directed to one of the world’s largest sources of freshwater.

Chair of the Senate Ag Committee Debbie Stabenow of Michigan says the funds will address water quality, erosion, invasive species, and more.

“I was able to get the largest single investment in the Great Lakes in our Great Lakes Restoration Initiative,” she says.

President Biden plans to visit Ohio today to talk more about the investments.

Since 2010, the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative has provided nearly $3 billion to fund more than 6,000 projects throughout the Great Lakes region, including $762 million for 880 projects in Michigan.
