Grassley calls for more trade deals
US Senator Chuck Grassley says he’d like to see the nation enter more trade deals in 2023.
“I would hope that we would return to our tradition of promoting trade because it’s so important to Iowa manufacturing and Iowa agriculture,” he said, “particularly since we export about a third of our surplus production.”
The Iowa Republican says American producers depend on trade certainty. Just this week, the Senate confirmed the Biden administration’s nominees for Chief Ag Negotiator for the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and the USDA’s Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs.
