Grassley calls EPA decision to side with 10th Circuit ruling on SRE’s a good first step

Iowa U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley calls the EPA’s recent decision to agree with last year’s 10th Circuit Court ruling limiting small refinery exemption requests an important step.

“The announcement provided certainty for Iowa farmers and biofuel producers regarding the use of the waivers.”

But Grassley isn’t satisfied and wants the new administration to quickly propose renewable volume obligations for 2021.  He says there’s also work to be done on E15 labeling.

“While the Supreme Court has indicated its intentions to review the 10th Circuit case, I’m glad to see that the Biden administration tries to right the wrong of previous small refinery decisions.”

Grassley says the EPA needs to do what it is expected to do and follow the law.
