Grain industry wants help to avoid rail strike

The grain industry is concerned about the possibility of a rail strike combined with the ongoing challenges on the Mississippi River. Mike Seyfert is the CEO of the National Grain and Feed Association.

“If you add a rail strike on in November and December, while you have the river challenges and while you’re moving a lot of consumer products, it’s a real concern.”

The NGFA sent a letter to the White House October 27, asking the Biden administration to work with railroads and union to get the labor agreement across the finish line. NGFA also sent a letter to Congressional leadership on November 3, asking them to act ahead of the deadline.
