Grain-fed U.S. beef sought around the globe

An official with the U.S. Meat Export Federation says grain-fed U.S. beef continues to be sought-after around the globe.

John Hinners tells Brownfield it’s considered a premium product.

“When we’re able to talk about that corn-fed beef that we have on the shelf, or maybe it’s in a restaurant halfway across the world, we’re going to talk about that delicious marbling that you’re going to get (from) great genetics here in the United States. But (also) from that corn feeding.”

He says the U.S. is in the driver’s seat when it comes to consistency, quality, and food safety.

“You’re going to look at those marketing attributes from the United States.”

Hinners says USMEF is constantly educating importers, distributors, retailers, and food service about the benefits of marbled beef.
