Gov. Parson declares October Pork Month in Missouri

Governor Mike Parson has declared October to be Pork Month in Missouri.

“Therefore, I Michael L. Parson, Governor of the state of Missouri, do hereby proclaim the month of October 2021 to be Pork Month in the state of Missouri.”

Speaking at the Missouri Department of Agriculture Thursday, Parson highlighted Missouri agriculture’s commitment through the COVID-19 pandemic to getting its job done, “We are second to nobody in this country and if we just keep on course, making sure we promote agriculture, we take care of agriculture in this state, we’re going to feed not only Missourians, but we’re going to feed the world.”

Missouri Pork’s Don Nikodim tells Brownfield Pork Month promotes the product during a time of ample supply, “It’s a great value for customers, so, we continue to encourage people to eat and enjoy pork often, and the emphasis of Pork Month is to help do just that.”

Nikodim says customers interested in learning more about pork or best cooking techniques can visit Missouri Pork’s website for information.
